Default ICC provile error

So, my daughter was married this weekend. I shot photos (lots of them) during the rehearsal dinner.

Opened all from PSCS4 to make very minor adjustments, mostly levels adjustments or the cloning out of a shadow here and there.

Saved each image as a .tiff which is my habit.

Attempts to open any of those photos for web resizing results in an error message from CS4 concerning corrupted ICC profile(s).

This is a new one for me. In all my years, I have never encountered such a problem. I know nothing about ICC profiles, and can assure you that I made no preference changes that would impact such a variable.

I have opened and batch converted the affected files using Irfanview, so no harm, no foul.

But, from a curiosity standpoint, what went on here, what caused this problem, and what might one do to correct it once encountered?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Caruso

Were you original photos saved out of the camera as RAW, TIFF or Jpeg format?

Icc profiles are windows driven, for monitor profiling. Adobe loads it's own colour profiles. My best guess is that somehow when you saved as tiff, CS4, somehow overwrote part if the Icc profile.

My suggestion is for you to update your Icc profile by recalibrating your monitor.
Cheers
