Default can someone teach me how to hyperlink?

I don't know HTML at all, but I now there is a way to hyperlink, could someone tell me how to do that so that links actually work instead of having to copy and paste. Would be greatly appreciated! Also how do you do the work "here", and it takes you to the link?

Thanks a mill! Jess

<a href="http://www.photocamel.com">Photocamel Homepage</a>

The above link would take you to the Photocamel homepage. Not to confuse you, but the actual pathing of the link depends where the link originates. If it is just a link within your own website then the full address is not necessary.

Hope I answered the right question in the right way. If not please let me know and I'll try again.
Cheers
Dean

Thanks Dean, but no, we have to start over . If I find a site elsewhere, and I would like to post it here, what do you have to type in, so that it's underlined like yours, and a person just clicks on it. Also I appologize for my typing up above, it's not spelling but typing errors.

Remove the spaces between the brackets in the following code:

[ url=http://www.google.com/ ]Google[ /url ]

...and you'll get this:

Google

thanks Michael, that's what I was looking for, but why do you need the second word google between the brackets, and if it was a long webpage, would that be reapeated too? Iknow nothing about HTML. Jess

The word between the brackets is what is displayed for others to click on. If you just want an automatic hyperlink, you can type/paste the link directly into your post:

http://www.google.com/

Let's say I'm linking to something like...

http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38969

That doesn't look so good. I can instead use code:

[ url=http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38969 ]Daily Bruin: Protests Pursue Policy Change[ /url ]

Daily Bruin: Protests Pursue Policy Change

So, you don't have to necessarily repeat the URL or website name, but you can if you like.

Sorry Jess,
I actually first typed the actual html, but the browser only displayed the link, should have gone cyclohexane and put some brackets around them. Glad you got it figured.

Cheers

If you would like to learn html here is a link, this will teach you how to get started making hyper links for photo using html.

Print this all out and then just start working with it

http://members.aol.com/webstlouis/howto.html

If you want to you can click on my photo link the right click on my photo page in the upper right hand blank area. A screen will come up then click on view source, the click on file, and do a save as, ( blank html code page ) save this in a file on your computer. Then when you want to make a hyper link just enter you photo name and up load the page and you will have the link.
