Default Setting up 2 monitors

I recently bought a new video card, Radeon 9250. Im having a hard time getting the 2 monitors to produce the same color/brightness. Both monitors are flat screen same make, model. I have to use an adapter on #2 as the card only has one vga input and the monitors are old enough they dont have dvi ports. My #1 screen has what i think to be correct. The other I can seem to match. It always seems brighter and more contrasty. Other problem is the #2 screen seems to flash alot when starting a new program like PS. I have changed the refresh rate to lowest setting (60) up to 70 as 70 is the fastest it is capable of. I have tried to set the gamma / brightness/contast in the software and it gets pretty close. I click apply and save. Next time I start the computer, the screens look different again. Any hints would be helpful.

Dean

If you swap #1 and #2 monitor ports, does the problem move with the monitor?

Take a look at Mediachance for Dual monitor tips. Some great software as well

Above 60Hz on old flat panels probably won't get you anything, as I don't think many LCD's can refresh faster than that anyway. Going faster could actually cause problems.
May be time to invest in a calibrator.
