Default Software to Produce Slide Shows
Can anyone recommend a program that will help me produce slide shows (with music and transitions, etc.) AND save to a DVD? I do NOT need or want a full professional version of something, but something that works and can produce a good result.

It would be a bonus if the program would also do some video editing. I have Photoshop CS6, but the video editor is very "clunky."

I tried the trial version and watched the sample videos and this one looks like one that you may use.

You can do it in Windows Movie Maker or if you have Mac then use iMovie.

You just drop your photos into the line of video and treat them like movie clips. Put your music on the audio line and you are good to go.

With Mac you have to export to iDVD but with Windows you just burn from Movie Maker.

I have had success with Photodex's Proshow Gold. And the price is very doable.

Thanks for your repsonses. I've tried Windows Movie Maker, but copying to a DVD is not easy. I may try one of the other programs suggested.

I recently bought Premiere Elements for around $79. It allows you to create DVD slideshows and videos with a soundtrack, transitions, etc.

I Have Wondershare and Photodex Proshow gold. Photodex Pro Gold is the oonly one I will use now. It does not have a major learning curve but produces good DVD's playable on TV.
I do use Photoshop for any photo adjustments and sizing before I put them in photodex.
You can try the free trial to see if it meets your needs.

I have used ProShow Gold from Photodex.com for 4 years+. The latest version is awesome. It is inexpensive, powerful, rock solid. Customer support and engineering support is among the best I have seen anywhere. Lots of power and features yet very easy to use. I never had to consult the user manual
