Files missing from folder on Flash Card - PhotoCamel

I thought I read somewhere on this forum someone discussing the fact that you can retrieve files from your card even after theyve been deleted.

I have all my photos from big shoot stillon the card, but befor I shot those I shot some the night before and left them on the card because they were directly related to the second shoot. I now have all the photos from the second shoot, but in the folder that the first ones were stored, I find that it's empty. I didn't reformat the card because if I had, I would have lost everything on it, and the only pix that are missing are the ones from the first folder.

Is there a way to get them back?

Which brand of CF card do you have? The card I have (Lexar (sp)) came with recovery software included with it.

I just checked it an it's the one that came with my Rebel XT and it says pq1 Compact Flash 2 GB, Hi Speed 40

Guess it's a generic one, huh? Didn't get any software with it.
