I absolutely hate it for several reasons.
Chief among these reasons is the darn keyboard which takes a sledgehammer blow before it will type a character. Probably 15-20% of my characters are missing because I don't slam the keys hard enough. This is bad for me but, terrible for my wife who is a high speed touch typist. Second among my hates (but, pressing pretty close to the terrible keyboard) is the glossy screen that reflects every light that is to your rear. I know that it was my fault, not Toshiba's. I should heve found the shortcomings before purchasing the unit. I am just venting and describing what I percieve as shortcomings.. Maybe some prospective purchaser will be wiser than I was! __________________

Over the summer, I was shown this Toshiba laptop that had gone to hell, similar to yours. It had also acquired trojans, but that was the user's fault.
If you can budget a little bit of extra money, there are plenty of good laptops to be had at the big box retailers (look in the ads that come out on Sunday) and Costco. |

I've had a Toshiba satellite pro 6100 since 2002 and it's pretty good. BUT the thing I hate the most is the button mouse. I didn't think that thru, not that I use anyway, just carry a mouse around in the bag. I'm going Apple on the next purchase.
