Pretty damn good....
Its lens is equal to a 560mm telephoto, or so Canon claims. Yesterday, my wife and I took our grand daughter for a walk in a local park. We discovered a wedding party there doing their post-ceremony photos. We were on the opposite side of the pond. I thought it would be fun to shoot some shots of their effort. I keep a Bushnell laser range finder in my camera bag. I lased the range and it returned a distance of 288 yards (864 feet). Since I didn't bring my monopod, I had to shoot hand held and hope the image stabilization would be my salvation. Here's one of the shots, cropped, processed and run through Noiseware. ![]() If I had my monopod, or better yet, one of my tripods, the image would have been cleaner and more sharp. As it is, I think that it is still impressive considering that we are talking about a $300 compact, single lens camera, hand held at very long range. The overcast resulted in even, albeit low lighting, that resulted in a touch of noise, which is why I ran the photos through Noiseware for clean-up. My regards, C.C. Jordan __________________
