Has anyone used or is anyone familiar with the Ricoh GR1 35mm film camera or the Ricoh GR 8MP digital camera? Based on their specifications, they appear to be great compact and lightweight cameras for scenic and travel shots.

Dear Narsuitus,
I am using a GR-1s for 4-5 years now. My friend using a GR-1V, they are professional quality compacts. The specifications are true, everithing working perfectly, even in the most harsh environment. I was using this little gem from 55 degree of Celsius in the Sahara to the -30 degree in the winter. It is even a bit weather (splash) resistant too. It has the most comfortable handling, the functions are SLR killers! It has T intstead of the regular B mode, so there is no power consumtion during the long exposure! Buy one while You can get on the used market - same price/weight/size like a 28/2,8mm SLR lens, but it can perfectly fit to your pocket! I have no experience with the digital GR yet, but as I have seen in the tests, it has pretty nice lens too. Regards: Gyuri __________________
