Well....
A few years ago, I sold a total of 14 images to four different customers - taken with a little 3MP Fuji S602.* The images were for "spot use" in destination advertising and small magazine feature stories. This one got a cover position in a small format map/hotel/restaurant guide, cropped and printed at roughly 5-1/2" x 8" (smaller than you are seeing it on your screen) with a print run of 40,000 pieces: ![]() These are typical of my Fuji S602 images used as destination ads in the back section in either Sunset, Westways or Over 50 magazine.* Again, printed very small – spot use.* (Notice the common theme in all of these?* )![]() ![]() Those first 14 made me enough to buy a pair of D70's and some new glass. This in turn allowed me to sell bigger images (including billboards) to buy a pair of D200's and more glass, which in turn.......the game goes on. Did I tell them that I used a P&S? No, I'm a sales guy - not a good photographer! Most of you folks produce better images than I can I ran them through Noise Ninja and up-sized them to their specified print size at 300 dpi - and they were very happy. The whole point is that compact cameras can produce very good images! Marc __________________

Edit:* Of course it is.* You list Morro Bay as your home, you lucky dog. My son was married at the Inn at Morro Bay, and the Rock made a great backdrop for the ceremonies. ![]() |

Hi Frank,
Living here has advantages and a few negatives too..... Looks like you had some decent weather for the wedding - June I assume from the exif data? That big deck at the Inn is nice spot for weddings/receptions. In fact that shot (with the boat on land) was taken about 200-300 feet North of yours - down and to the right from that deck. Does your son live up this way? Marc |

The location of your shot was 200 feet to the right of the deck.* The pictures taken in slideshow this link will take you to were taken 200 feet to the left of the deck. http://www.pbase.com/unclefrank/hero...view=slideshow |

Yes, I decided on the G7. It is more...solid, less "fluffy". I like the squarish feeling of it and the weight of it. It's lovingly been nicknamed "the brick".
![]() The kids aren't allowed to play with it yet - I like it too much. Matthew still has the Sony and Nathan will likely get Mike's Easyshare since he never uses it. ![]() |

This is kind of a rehash of the demise of my little Oly C-3030z. This is one of the last photo's taken with it, was on the card.
Long story short, rental canoe capsized in brackish water with 4 of us and fried my little Oly. R.I.P. |

As a member of the working press, I get to see a lot. I very rarely carry a camera at work as it is a distraction for an audio engineer... In the weeks following Katrina I was unable get any film for my SLR's... the little bit I had in the fridge was sitting in ice cream soup... Bumming electricity for battercharging from generators... My little nikon995 came through, and I ended up with about a thousand images... 10 or so were published around the world... a few by the BBC and one ended up on accuweather's annual calender. I now carry it, or a fujiS20 all the time in a small ice chest...just in case.
This was my friends company truck in front of the famous "Rock and Bowl" "Rock and Bowl" is back open, and the city is slowly getting off it's face... Let's not forget our friends in Britain going through the same tragedy right now... ![]() |

I have an HP Photosmart 930. I shoot mostly on automatic.... I'm not into settings and lenses for the most part. I'm a point and shoot kinda gal. BUT I like good quality. I normally set my camera to "Action" when shooting the dogs.
