If I had to guess, I'd say you used a small diffuser with on-camera flash. It makes for pretty boring lighting. On the second shot, the dirty wall in the background really detracts from the shot. The treats look tasty, but I don't feel the photography is flattering.
[edit] - just read your previous post describing your approach - so this isn't really a "commercial photography" effort. As far as making improvements, I think the first step is getting the flash off the camera, or perhaps using a reflector out of the frame to soften the light. If it was me, the first thing I'd try would be hand-holding the flash with a small soft box attached - something like the Lumiquest III, or a DIY version. [/edit] |

Thanks for the tips...Next time I will bring the flash cable and get it off the camera. I have a flash head diffuser and will use that too. Liked the DIY softbox idea....may give that a go.....
