Default Wine Glasses

Shoot with f/8 , no light in the room , a speedlight shot via long tube (to act like a snoot)

The image has a certain presence to it. I would have used a ling strip light or bounced the flash off a white board.

The black background works with the glass. Try bouncing the light off s long, narrow board and see what ya get!

Shooting glass is very tricky. Instead of making your light smaller you want to make it bigger. Traditionally you want the light to wrap around the glass to refine the edge of the shape.

Don't take this the wrong way but I suggest you buy or go to the library and check out this book.

It is VERY helpful. The 4th edition is the latest edition but even the older version is very helpful.

it looks like your light is coming from a small source directly in front of the glass. As stated by Surprakuma, a large soft light source from the side and in front of the subject and a white board from the opposite side for reflection would be a better starting point and would give you a much better result.

Well, crafting a snoot for a speedlight would seem to indicate an intention for a small light source. The question for me is why a single small light and why in a blacked out room? I have the feeling something specific was being looked for, though I don't know that the finding it was a success. Glass is very tricky and results can run the gamut depending on so many factors, not the least is lighting.

10x for all the feedback.
when i shot this image and used this kind of light i wanted to use small narrow light and not to light all of the glasses. i wanted to have a narrow light shine thru the glasses.
