Ed,
I think you did pretty good with your lighting. There's that last bathroom shot where the shadows go UP from the toilet onto the wall. That seems kind of strange. Views through the windows could be a little bit brighter. Camera height looks good, shooting into the corners works pretty well though I wouldn't have cropped any doors, preferring instead to show the entire entire door and crop some of the opposite wall if needed. One thing I did notice was the cleaning marks all over the carpet. Those will be hard to retouch and should have been removed before shooting. Using a push broom you can pull the broom, raking the carpet to eliminate those patterns. It's more work than it looks, isn't it! __________________

Thanks Brooks, yes it is more work than it looks. Lots and lots of minor adjustments.
Last bathroom shot - DOH! I put my flash head on the floor with just a pan reflector, closed the door and shot it remotely. I didn't notice that shadow, thanks for pointing it out. Windows - I'll work on it next time (if there is one). Doors - thanks, I'll remember this. Cleaning marks - the owner likes them like that. So I followed the golden rule. Thanks for your help Brooks, these came out much better than if you hadn't helped. Talking with the owner I found out that the average price guys charge for shooting real estate is $400 to $500. That convinced me that this in not a market to pursue. I'll shoot it for existing customers, but I'm not going looking for this. Ed |

One more thing I noticed is that one shot had open doors leading into..darkness.
Hiding a flash in adjoining rooms adds a lot in that case. (All this fussing with lights still didn't help me get my house sold at a reasonable price. Nice to know though that I had the nicest shots on the local market) __________________
