Default 5d mark II rig

Guessing a lot of guys are using the 5d II to film. Check out this setup from redrock micro. Looks impressive if anything.

I spoke to a sub 1 million director at a trade show in London in October 2009 and he said that the 5D Mkii was the best video system in the market for the type of output they could get when compared to simlar video cameras.

He then stated that even with the add on bits it was far cheaper than with any other HD Video gear, he showed us some clips on pro video cameras and the Canon, and I must admit the Canon looked better

Agree

At the Canon event in London in October they had full suspended walk around setups that stabilised the camera unit. Was very impressed with the video gear.

People with a lot of great video skills are doing some great stuff with the 5d now.

Notice the focus puller's hand on the focus control. This setup shown requires two people and physically touching a control attached physically to the lens. This can easily induce vibrations. The Intuitfocus eliminates a focus puller and easily allows the shooter to precisely control the focus and the hand does not touch the lens at all so those vibrations are eliminated! This becomes especially important if you are using fast lenses at open aperture for very narrow depth of field shooting. In addition, imagine that this was a Steadycam and the cameraman and the assistant cameraman (focus puller) are both trying to keep pace with each other as a sports or news event keeps changing. Simple to do with the Intuitfocus with just the camera operator. Almost impossible to do with two people without lots of rehersal. And if there is lots of rehersal it can't be live news, sports, dances, etc. Those types of events are spontaneous, not rehersed.
