Lol, that's the way it always goes it would be nice if i could afford both. It seems tho that i could get the same shutter speed by getting a body with a higher usable i s o but then again the better glass would improve image quality. Decisions, Decisions

I realize it wouldn't be an L lens but I would still get the speed i was looking for
Would you rather have the 5dMIII with the 70-300 gold ring or the 60d with the 70-200?
Glass first.

Grats! I have the 70-200 v1, and have found I'm not using it as much as the 70-300L. One of my favorite lenses.

Been ogling the version 2 for nearly 2 years now.

Personally, I have the 70-200 IS with a 1.4 and a 2X converter. I wish, I had the 100 -400 as the 70-200 combo is a little slow and image quality suffers a little with the converters on my 7D

In a previous life (or so it seems) I was my company's event photographer, and used 24-70 & 70-200F2.8 on at least a weekly basis, that job has been made redundant, so I traded 24-70F2.8 for 24-70F4 IS, sold 100-400L and got 70-300L in stead, now about one year and a half later it is time to sell the 70-200...

YMMV...
