Default EF Lens vs EFS Lens on Crop Sensors Question

Hi all..

I have been reading about Canon lenses lately and I couldn't find an answer to this question. EFS lenses are made for crop sensors cameras and EF for full frame cameras. If we mount the EF lens on a crop sensor camera we will have the multiplication of 1.6 factor. My question is: Is it the same case with EFS lenses? (which are made for crop sensor cameras)

In other words, it is confirmed that 100mm EF on 60D is 160mm(compared to that if on 5D II). Is 100mm EFS on 60D is only 100mm or 160mm?

Thank you.

Yes, any lens on a crop sensor is x1.6 (x1.3 for the 1D).
The only difference is EF lenses will fit any Canon EF mount body, EF-S lenses will only fit Crop bodes.

Don't put an efs lens on a D30, D60 or 10D. I still have two 10D cameras and i have to constantly remind myself "no efs"

Why ? The kit lens that came along with the 60D is EFS 18-135.

EFS lenses are fine on the 60D. Back in 2002 Canon Made a D60 model which a 6MP camera. If I remember correctly the EFS line of lenses didn't come on the market until the mid 2000's.

...to be a bit more precise: the EF-S lensmount was introduced with the 300D/Original Rebel on August 20, 2003

EF-S lenses fit all later models in the '1.6x crop series' xxD, xxxD, xxxxD and 7D.

...0.02...

Kindest regards!
