I agree. Are you looking for a full size sensor or would you like the extra reach of 1.6X crop factor? Would you like more latitude to crop? then more MP might be the answer. Is money an option?

30D - Why? Most people who purchase a 5D know why they're purchasing it?
If you don't know which, purchase the least expensive of the two for now and then
purchase a "Full Framer" later on.

Both cameras are super!

Eight months ago I bought a mini canon point and shoot. Two weeks later I traded it in for a Rebel XT. Today, I received a 5D in the mail. I used to be an avid semi-pro as a teenager and got back into shooting 20 years later in my 40's. I quickly found limitations in the first two cameras and am excited about my new one.

My advice, look forward to why you are purchasing the camera and your skill level. Look ahead one year and purchase that one.

Good luck deciding. David
