Default What Software Comes with 20D?
I will soon be getting my new (used) 20D. It will not come with any software. What software is supposed to come with it? I did look on the Canon site and all I see are upgrades for software. Do I need to worry about getting it from somewhere?

Personaaly I am not a fan of canon software and tend to stick to PS CS2 .

dc2: Do you have a direction to the CS2 plugin for RAW files? I know there's a fudge out there somewhere just haven't had the time to search it down.

It's on the Adobe site in the download area. Just get the latest RAW conversion plugin

Ok then I should be all set. I have PS CS2 and use it on Raw from my Sony. I'll be sure to check for updates though.

Hi Stormdancing,

The 20D originally came with the Canon EOS Solution disk version 8.0, Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2.0 and Canon's Digital Photo Professional, version 1.2

As you have seen on the Canon site, all Canon software has in the mean time been upgraded to higher versions or other 'incarnations' of basically the same software.

You have Adobe PhotoShop CS2, and with the correct AdobeCameraRAW version, is all you *could* need to process your RAW's.

Canon's DPP however ain't that bad, so it might be worth your efforts to try and locate the latest version (v2.1.1.4)

And one other thing: with the CameraWindow software you are able to add/alter/delete the owner's name in the camera after you have USB-connected your camera to your computer.

This info-field is also part of the EXIF information that is added to all photo-files, so you have an 'anti-theft' inside your camera, and a 'anti-copyright-violation' on each file you shoot )

I saw on ebay for 35.99 Buy It Now. Manual and CD's.
I called Canon and you can get the software there for 19.99. Manuals are 7.00 but can be downloaded for free online.
I'm going to go ahead and order the software from Canon.

I'm getting so excited. That 20D is getting closer and closer as I make the final payments these past few weeks. Y'all are in for trouble once I do get it. LOL
