Do you have to hook up to the WFT-2A with USB, or can you use the 1D's USB port by itself, when shooting with an external HD.

For 1-D Mk III you have to use the WFT-2A to be able to connect to an external USB drive, with the USB port you can wire to a laptop, shoot tethered, and save the files on the laptop's drive or any drive connected to the laptop.
