On the histogram on the RAW tab, you can grab the top and pull it down for the bright areas and grab the bottom and pull it up for the dark areas. I can get you a screen shot if that doesn't make any sense.

Steve, it appears that pulling the top and bottom is the same as using S&H sliders.

Please tell me how do you use those tools.

I didn't notice they were the same. If I have highlight/shadow clipping, then I'll pull the top down / bottom up to just get rid of the clipping, then add just a touch back with the new S/H bars. I don't know if that's the most efficient or not, but that's what I do in DPP. Honestly, I like Lightroom better and only use DPP for high ISO RAW files since it handles them better than LR.
