Default I took aim and pulled the trigger

so a shiny new 5D is currently winging it's way to me . Couldn't resist the latest price drop + £200 ($350) rebate.

Now - can anyone recommend the best EOS to OM adapter so I can reuse my trusty old Zuiko wide angles on this thing?

Oh, you're in trouble now.

You're going to use non-Canon lenses on a Canon camera? Didn't know that was possible.

Congrats Paul! Aside from the front-focus, back-focus, dust-on-the sensor, vignetting of lenses, and utter full-frame snob appeal :P, it's an excellent camera!

Seriously, the 5D should prove to be a great tool for you. You'll learn to make it sing...

Don't know how good it is, but it's fairly reasonable. There maybe better choices out there?

Yours, too? Mine front focuses and back focuses, and sometimes it middle focuses. Makes for some interesting effects. I'm now considering converting the 5D to an IR-only camera.

By the way, where's the mirror lockup button?

After all the negative focusind and dust comments I keep hearing about the 5D, I think I'll just hang on to my anitquated 1Ds for a while longer -- I already have the FF snob appeal working for me I can deal with the noise issues

JD, I don't have a 5D (as of yet). Just a lowly admirer with one of those
crippled Canon crop cameras (say that three times fast...).

I know I would quite happy with a 1Ds.

I was looking for a 5D shortly after they first started showing up in the stores. I called a local dealer who told me that she didn't have a 5D in stock but had a used 1Ds. I got it for about $500 less than the price of a new 5D and I took it. I still ponder over whether I made the correct decision or not sometimes. The 1Ds takes great pictures, but does have issues with noise above 250 ISO. While it has features not available on the 5D, it's a beast to carry around I'm thinking about hiring one of those "stranded" guys on the Interstate exits (will work for food) to carry it around for me.
