Default 50mm Hood

Has anyone had any luck with any of the ebay hoods for the 50 1.8?

The front element of the 50F1.8 is so recessed, that if you do not put a filter on the lens, you can use it without hood and still have a hood effect from the lens itself

If you put a filter on it, you bring the front element 'outside' and then a hood is advisable. I have no experience with ebay hoods, only with OEM Canon one's

...€0.02...

Kindest regards!

try this: Free printable cardboard lens hoods

You can use paper or foam sheet. You can have a lens hood for less than 1(one)$.
