I don't agree with Brian 100% of the time, but in this last case, he is 100% correct. Some seem to make a statement, gets a reply that is opposite of what he believes or expressed, and then tries to defend that with some verbiage that is even easier to argue against, so then he uses a different mind game to try another attack or counter-attack. You can't follow the logic or mentality or simple thread or whatever the heck you want to call it. It's impossible unless you are in them shoes.
There is no need to consolidate threads for a camera or basically anything really. If you want to find something about camera xyz, use the search feature. Try it. If you are really lazy put the camera name in the thread title so you can find it later. As for price, when one says it is X dollars, why would you ask where that came from, when you later stated that you know you pay more because you buy local. Makes little sense to me, and I'm not up for a good detailed explanation. Buying local is a great move. I do it sometimes. Biggest camera purchase I ever made was local. And it was EXACTLY the same price if I would have used BH Photo or other mega-online dealers. But it makes NO SENSE to buy local for certain reasons, that you don't take advantage of if the camera is not performing. And if the people that run the local place can't see the issue, then either you are dumb for dealing with them, or dumb for seeing things that aren't known problems (seeing noise that isn't noise). |

You are very funny, Mr.P.
I could imagine this exchange here in the Camel: Member: Damn, I had a flat tyre going to work this morning. Mr.P: Of course you did. You didn't wash the car, you didn't change the oil in the last 3 months. Heck, you didn't even change the CD in your car's CD player. What do you expect, dumb guy. Sheesh! |

I don't see how that represents or is relevant to anything posted here. You need to put your blinders on and read what is posted because the answers to your initial questions are there.
And I could care less about your flat tire (you ought to be able to change it), and the cause of it has very little to do with your old oil or any CD in the player...by the way. |

You're not FEELING the moment, Mr. Pickles. Did you consider the FEELINGS of the other CDs that aren't being played? What about consideration of the poor driver, who may not have wanted to change the tire because he was feeling gloomy? And maybe he couldn't afford the oil because he was too busy buying a camera he can't figure out? [/sarcasm] |

Hey guys, I held a 1D3 today at Calumet, I was inches away from walking away with it, but I resisted a little, I didn't want to start kicking myself in October or whenever the successor to the 5D comes out and delivers everything I was looking for that the 1D3 somewhat fell short.
My main criteria: 14-bit A/D, Full Frame, Large/Bright VF. I know, I know, there is already a camera that fills all three; 1Ds3...but I'm not about to spend $8000...that I don't quite have that much yet! LOL BTW, after holding and playing with the 1D3 today, I am 98% sure this is my next camera, with that in mind, what do you recommend I buy with this camera; as in accessories-batteries, etc. I have ~ a little over $5K. TIA. |

Spare battery-check and figured I'd need that, since I refuse to believe the 2200 shots Battery Life estimated by Canon. Now, these Ducatti's, would the 1D3 take advantage of the speed? I have Sandisk Extreme III's 8 and 16 GB, wouldn't that suffice? BTW, I have a contact at Sandisk and can usually get great prices on the CF cards. The 16GB cost me $116 shipped. E1 Strap - I have a spare ![]() What's the Optech loop strap? Yes, a focusing screen! The beauty of this and the 5D and the 40D, interchangeable FS... What's an L plate? I have plenty of 2.8< glass, well 4...one being the 16-35mm f2.8 L. ![]() Thanks Max. |

This reminds me of Fast Times on Ridgemont High, the scene with Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) and Mr. Han.
MR. Han: "...On MY time." Jeff: "I was thinking about this Mr. Han, since I have to be here too, shouldn't it be 'our' time? So since it is our time, I am going to have a pizza, on 'our' time." Mr Han: "You're absolutely right, I hope you brought enough for everybody. Come class Mr. Spicoli has brought us lunch. Come help yourself." ![]() ![]() ![]() |
