I only proved that nobody posts about it. Didn't prove or agree that every post about it should be in one thread....because basically, that is pretty stupid.

My opinion is, if the thing cost $7K and the noise is what appears to be a big issue to you, then I'd be looking to recoup a huge chunk of the $7K....either that or get some new glasses.

I'd blame it on Paul We seem to follow the prices in the UK to a certain extent. Two of the (Canon) cams I bought locally from the authorized dealer came from the UK.

Btw, I'm aware I paid a full grand compared to the US price (which can get you a 40D). But the peace of mind when paying so much is worth it. IMO.

...in Holland you pay ~€6650 for 1Ds Mk III and ~€975 for the 40D, that's €7.625 which is $11.875...

...B&H has the 1DsIII for $ 7.995 and the 40D for $1.140... $ 9.135 total...

It's not "me against you". It's "correct vs incorrect". I'll argue with the Canon Pope Himself (Max) if I think he's wrong. It's not about WHO he is but what he said. Wrong is wrong.

On that same note, if someone shows me I'm wrong, I'll gladly admit it and use it as a learning experience.

Thankfully, it doesn't happen that often...mostly because I know when to keep my mouth shut and listen.
