Default Ditching the 200mm Prime

I am thinking of selling off the Canon 200mm f/2.8 Prime and replace it with a 70-200 zoomer. The Prime is a typical prime. Awesome and fast. I just think for the junk I shoot, the zoomer would cover more and be used more.

Any Prime users/lovers out there think I've lost all my marbles?

How much if you do sell it?

I go through similar thoughts. But I have both the 200/2.8 and the 70-200IS. I use the zoom a LOT more than the prime. But I do like the prime when I want a smaller (and black) lens that doesn't stand out so much. I also have the 85/1.8 and 135/2.0. But use them more than the 200 prime. Maybe equal use as the 70-200.

Well, it's none of my business of course... but, if it were me, I'd keep it - if I wanted the zoom, I'd save up and get that, while keeping the prime - but that's just me!!

I think it is worth $600, as I have seen some sold for less and some for more. Mine looks great (no paint scrathings, or lens scratchings, and doesn't appear to me to have any dust in the elements. And I have the humongous "hard" case (big black one with red inside), original box, both end caps, and the case strap to go with it.

As for saving up and getting a zoom to add to the collection, I have tried that. Several times. The wife wants a new pool, or a vacation, or something that costs $500 breaks, or I get a 550EX flash instead, or a better wide lens, or........
