Default 550ex Flashes as Slave not in synch

I am sure what I am doing or not doing is very basic but here goes... I am using two 550EX flashes triggered by a Cactus transmitter. Naturally one is set as the main and the other as the slave and both are on the same channel. The main flash is triggered but the second one only goes off after the main. In other words they are not in synch. I am using a 1DS for your information.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Morrie

It sounds like you may have the flash in ETTL mode, in this configuration there is a relay delay and the second flash fires after the shutter trip.

Both flashes need to be in M manual mode, if not, try this and see if they sync now.

I solved the problem!!!

If you put the receiver on the flash set to slave (not the master) they fire as they should.uld.

Go figure
