Hi, everyone. I've been using these cameras side-by-side for the past few weeks, and I've come away feeling that the color from the 1DS Mark II is more natural-looking than the color from the original 1DS. Specifically, I see more of a tendency toward reddish skin tones with the 1DS using the standard color spaces (i.e., not Adobe RGB) than the 1DS Mark II exhibits.
Has anyone else noticed this? Some have claimed that the files from the 1DS exhibit more "pop." I have not noticed this. Perhaps the "pop" comes from enhancing reds? In any case, I'm finding less to do in post to get the files from the 1DS Mark II right. What's very disappointing to me overall, however, is that every Canon 1 series digital body I've ever used, and I've used them all, has different color characteristics, a fact which makes using different models very tiring. __________________

This may be a difficult question to get a response to as I suppose that many people don't get to try one D series camera ,let alone compare a number of them,
All I can say is I'm happy with the color from my one and only 1DS2 ![]() |

Hmm, I have the original Gretag device for profiling printer and monitor. Does a newer version include camera profiling?
