Default What's the D30's shutter life expectancy?

Anyone know? And on a related note, what should one expect to pay for a D30, and are the worth buying?

I think the D30 and D60 have a shutter life of 70 to 75 thousand, if my memory is correct. I think the Pro bodies are 150K.

The D30 is only a paltry 3mp, but it always produced nice colors. There is no setting to change the Color, Saturation, and Sharpness in the camera, so you have to do all that in post, if you even care about modifying the default settings. It suffered a bit from some high contrast issues, but not like most prosumers. A quick check of my homeboys over at KEH, shows really good ones going for $429 to $450. You could probably beat that if you ventured into the 'Bay....but I always got the KEH route on these kind of things.

Thanks. I've never purchased from KEH. I should probably start a thread on the subject and get some opinions.

The believe the D30 shutter was only about 25,000 to 45,000 or so clicks. I had to replace mine but I don't know how many thousands of pictures I put through it. It was a lot. It cost $185 to have a new shutter assembly put into it. I sold my D30 recent for $350, which is about middle of the road for the going used price.

The thing about used 10D,D60 and D30 is the shutter actuations, but considering that a camera costed between $1500 to $3000 new, and that the 20D is currently at $1400, a $180 piece is nothing.
