Hi All,

The new Canon software, announced with the 1D Mk3, is now available for download for ALL Canon EOS (and PowerShot

) users via the USA website (on the Canon EOS 30D download page, go to Drivers/Software). The software is available for both Windows and Macintosh users, I will list the Windows versions only:

Canon RAW Codec 1.0 for Windows Vista

Canon DigitalPhotoProfessional 3.0, which a.o. adds a new 'edit' tab, Noise Reduction, which can now be applied/set separately for Luminance and Chromatic noise.

Canon Zoombrowser EX 5.8b

Canon EOS Utility 2.0, with added support for the LiveView function of the 1D Mk3, and a better interface in the Tethered shooting mode.

Canon PhotoStitch 3.1.19

Canon WFT-E1A Utility 2.0 for the LAN/wireless shooters

Please note that these are all Upgrade installations, which need the original product (from your CD) to be installed on your computer, otherwise a 'no-go' will show

And please note that these are all free, no extra registration or cash-out required!

DPP 3.0 is faster than v2.0. Just downloaded ZB 5.8 so let's hope it's faster too.

Little issue. Lost EXIF info after downloading with ZB 5.8 and processing with DPP 3.0. Not sure if either is the guilty party but it's worth a note.

If your deal is with Zoom Browser and DPP not behaving on the EXIF data, I think that is a common thing. I think Canon did that on purpose. I believe that once you edit an image with Zoom Browser, then the EXIF data is not "available" anymore.

Open the image you edited in something else (Irfanview, etc.) and you will probably see it. PBase may not read it, who knows, but I bet it is still there unless you purposely deleted it.

...you are left with basic shooting info after conversion, shooting date/time, F-stop, shutter, ISO, focal lenght, mode and colour space, the image serialnumber is mutilated, the rest is gone...

...at least I can re-add them with BreezeBrowserPro, but that's an extra step...

Thanks Mr.P,

I only use ZB to download the photos. The Raw files are then processed in DPP.

It could be an issue with Pbase, we'll have to wait to see what Max says.
