I've been getting quite a few images that are oof do to unknown reasons; some of these images look great at normal screen/print size, but when you look at 100% their far from sharp and unable to become sharp. In most cases I wouldn't care, but once in awhile I'll post some of my images on istockphoto.com and can't get them accepted do to oof images.
Here's an example http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/....html#msg17410 , both images look pretty good at reduced size, but as I said not so good at 100% and would not pass istockphoto.com's test. The first image: Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM (handheld) Shutter Speed: 1/1600 second F Number: F/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 400 11/Center AF points I had IS on the Canon 100-400mm would it be better to turn it off since my shutter speed was plenty fast enough? Would I have gotten a sharper image? I've gotten very sharp images many times with this cam/lens so my guess is it's me more than the cam. :P __________________

Figuring out this problem is going to be a process of elimination. The problem could be with your technique or it could be with your not being familiar enough with the autofocus system of that camera. Practice will help you in this regard.
Or you could actually have a camera that is not focusing as it should. You'll have to figure out for yourself whether this could be the problem, and if you believe it is, you need to send the camera in to Canon. Cameras do go out of alignment, and Canon can fix this problem if it resides with the camera itself. __________________
