The issue is with the Canon 70-200 F4 lens, not the Nikkor...so what is the point of your response?

"How do you determine a "sharp" 70-200 lens?" - sorry, no word "Canon" - would you be a bit more tolerant? I got it as general, was not suppose to show loyality to any brand, stupidest thing for mature men. Somebody already told something about Nikon, so let us kill him? Guys, for God sake, show some mercy! Show pics, not personalities!

First of all, it's the Canon forum, so that would be the first clue as to which 70-200 the OP is talking about, the second clue is in the post itself, where the OP is more specific stating "I got my 70-200 f4 IS on Friday."

The only mention of Nikon was of the focus chart, developed by a Nikon user.

However, the 100% crop of the eye can be used as a basis for comparison, once waple can take some test shots. I would expect similar performance at similar settings.

Its's not to say that other brands aren't tolerated, it's just than when posting, "This one is sharp. 70-200 VR Nikkor," others may wonder about the relevance. The comparison may not be as valid, understanding that these are two different lenses, one a fast f/2.4 [This was a typo should have read f/2.8], the other a moderate f/4.

I simply asked what the point of your post was, then you read this, and extract all kinds of dillusions from my kind, civil, and reasonable question. Perhaps it is time to put the pipe down.

lol - Jeez, Pavel, excitement follows you around like a lost puppy! "Put the pipe down." Now that's funny.

But to be honest, I can see where he felt a little sting from your first response. With the written word you supply your own inflection and sometimes you (the reader) get it wrong.

I certainly do get it wrong sometimes....part of being a human...and besides, my Eastern-Block sensabilities can come across abit Stalinist, or what some call draconian. I meant no harm...apologies to him and all! lol

...bit difficoult, getting F3.2 out of a F4 lens...

...the Nikon is the 70-200F2.8 VR...

...and to all: play it cool, babies!

Just take Moizes great capture for what it is: a perfect example of how sharp a good copy of any 70-200 can be... no more, no less... that's all he did...

...I tried to set an example in my earlier post also... and it would be nice to see some more... show your pics to illustrate your points, as that should also be what we are here for, why else do we have them cameras ?

By "you" Pavel, I didn't mean you personally. I meant all of us, anyone who happens to be the reader at a given time. We all misinterpret things.

Max, I love the little Police"person"!
