I originally contacted them to see if my mirror was previously repaired. Even with the serial no. and a picture, they could not say for sure so they said, send it in for free (its 6 years old and I bought it used).

Good service in my book.

I have a Canon G10 that I carry around everywhere, especially on long dog walks. It has been fine for 2 years, but I recently got a message to change the battery pack, so I bought a new battery. Camera worked fine for 3 weeks, now I am getting the same message. I tried charging the battery, but that doesn't work. Same message appears on screen.
Does anyone have the addy where to send it for the repair it seems to need? And do any of you have any ideas?
Thanks a lot for any help!

II'm afraid I can't help tell you what is wrong with it. If you decide to get it repaired, I'd suggest that you send it to Canon. Those folks are great IMO. Also, you might be able to send them an e-mail and they may be able to tell you what is or may be wrong with it along with a ballpark estimate. You could also try a google search with the camera model and error message.

First battery dying after two years is reasonable, you get 300 charges usually. The second battery may have been defective. Was it a Canon battery or ebay knock off?
