If you PS it any way...I'd just do a 90 degree rotation, not enough to get the butterfly completely right side up. The flower is bending due to its weight (as little as it is) it looks like, either that or it is a hanging flower. Having the butterfly totally upright would make the flower look a little off I'm guessing. Besides, a 90 degree rotation would leave you with a nice triangle sort of thing going by following the butterfly's wing line and then the leaf line...or even just ignoring the wings make a nice triangle (triangles are always good).
I really like the picture. Nice DOF and the butterfly makes me want mint chocolate chip ice cream (doesn't take much really). I'm not sure if the current bottom right corner of the background would be more distracting to me if it was the top right, or if I wish you'd just sort of blur it out a bit mroe or something...can't tell till you decide which way for sure it goes. Very nice. You just can't screw-up the sharpness of that 300 f/2.8 no matter what you do to it, 3x teleconverters included. Can you please provide EXIF data about exposure, aperture, and distance? Thanks!
Also, pertaining to the recomposition, I wouldn't necessarily do a simple 90 degree rotation. I would consider an angled approach, filling the frame with the butterfly and flora. Given the color contrast, just a hint of the background gives more than enough DOF impression; and you can further mask and Gaussian Blur it until sufficient. Just my thoughts, however. Hope this helps. E. __________________
