Default Part for 1D Mark II and 1DS Mark II to secure firewire

I've heard that with the 1D Mark IIN Canon is now delivering a part that makes the firewire cable more secure as it attaches to the camera, for the purpose of helping to ward off the wear that occurs on the Mark II models with their flimsier firewire cable attachment.

Does anyone know the part number or where I can get this part to add to the kit of a 1DS Mark II, which did not come with this part?

Man, I wish I had that kind of problem. Seriously, I would give these guys a call http://www.normancamera.com/shop/home.asp
They recently came through for me on some Canon equipment that I couldn't track down anywhere else.

JD,

I did several searches, but to no avail.

I think following Kevin's advise may be a good way, or contact B&H NY and be persistant (ask for the Canon Pro specialist )

...my €0.0002...

Regards, and good luck with the search...

Yeah, call someone and ask. This is what Rob Galbraith said about it...

The EOS-1D Mark II N is to ship with a black plastic locking cap meant to keep a cable inserted in the FireWire port from slipping out accidentally. The cap will attach to the EOS-1D Mark II and EOS-1Ds Mark II also, and it may become an accessory available for purchase by existing camera owners.
