I have to agree with Mr Pickles.......i've looked and read all the specs and have seen some of the images from the G7. Load of pap.....the fringing is awfull, how the hell can they call this a G series cam. At the moment i own the G6 and it has given me such joy and i have produced some of the best photo's i have ever done.

But i did read that someone has said that maybe canon have down-graded the G7 so that all the best features are built into the Pro-2 don't wuot me on the number 2 its just a guess, butmaybe it could be right.

Anyway in my view having used the G6 for nearly 2 years the G7 is a downgrade and those of us who use the G6 won't get the G7, for a start we can't even use the extras if we've bought them so thats a rip off for a start, but i'm waiting for my Canon 350 kit that i've ordered and my misses will get the G6 and i'm sure i'll make sure she gets the best out of it cause i know the G6 inside out and get to the controls quickly........

The more I look at the G7, the more I think it is a complete piece of crap. The sensor may be great, but Canon, in somewhat typical Canon fashion IMO, has given the world a DOWN GRADE.

They took the swivel lens. They took RAW (to save their DSLR sales). They took the ND filter. They changed the media type. They made the older models wide aperture a lot smaller.

They added IS and made the lens longer. Looks more like an A-series upgrade than a G-series one.
