First of all what a fantastic slingpack another great product by Lowepro.[/i]
LOWEPRO SLINGSHOT 200 AW Overall Specs Internal Dimensions = (WxHxD) 8.7W x 5.9D x 11.8H in. / 22 x 15 x 30 cm Material = Water-resistant micro fiber, ripstop nylon and 600D TXP™ Colour = Black/Grey No of Sliplocks= 3 sliplock attachment points OK lets go into this in a bit more detail.......... The Slingshot 200 AW has a great sling design which allows it to do what other bags do which is of course open it and be camera ready without putting the bag down making it more secure and safe from elements. LOADING AND CAPACITY Loading is easy with the huge access lid just set it down on the table and start slotting everything into place. then secure up with the silent zipsand the buckles to prevent the whole thing tumbing out equipment in the field. zip half way clip buckles then slide in the camera at the top enough room for my 350d with the grip attached or the 5d again with the grip attached. drape lens cloth over the back and finish zipping to the centre* * * *voila!!!! I carry all my camera equipment in the main section or in sliplocks if i need extra. While in the outer compartments i have a space blanket first aid kit and two small* leathermans. Top compartment enough room for a pen a notepad, waterproof jacket, maglite, filters, sandisk extreme 3 s* and battery's. RIGOROUS TESTING Some serious testing done such as taking on a* downhill mountain bike over a challenging black diamond course( just make sure its nice and tight) it has been subjected to rain (no problem with the all weather cover built in just swing it round pull out the cover, apply and swing round no stopping and no dropping) I have taken this bag for a 26 mile walk to test the comfort over long periods and have to say its really very good* holds everything nice and securely* and is fully customizable to your requirements. EXTRAS A lens cloth built into main camera section ideal for screens and protects from scratches only slight problem for some would be wide camera straps getting in a bit of a tangle but i use the E1 strap on my 350d and 5d and don't find it a hassle (each to their own as they say). The allweather cover stitched in so it cannot be lost a subtle touch but an important one. A camera compartment memory card wallet can carry four sandisk extreme 3 cards easily in or out of their cases. Sliplock attachments always enhance how customizable this bag can be as everyones carrying needs are different Conclusion [/b] Build quality = Excellent, lifetime guarantee guarantee* very well constructed usual lowepro standards will last for years!!!! Capacity* * * = I was amazed when i first purchased this bag and took it home just how much i can carry in it Comfort* * * *= After taking the Slingshot* cycling, walking, running for the plane there were no problems at all secure and no pain Trains, Planes + Autos = It can be used as carry on no problem at all no problems what so ever "perfect size" i was told Price* * * * * * = I think for a Lowepro i would say exceptional value for money they could have charged more and still be popular HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF THIS BAG HASN'T ALL READY WON AWARDS IT SOON WILL. __________________

Thanks for the review.
However, I can offer another opinion of this bag. I own it and never use it because I find that when loaded down with a heavy SLR and lens, it tires my shoulder. |

My quest to get the weight of my camera equipment off of my back (in a backpack) led me to try the slingshot. What I found, however, is that a carrying solution must distribute weight evenly if it is to be used for long. The slingshot fails in this regard.
I eventually discovered waist packs, as in the OffTrail bags from LowePro, and these are far superior. They are my most used bags, with the MiniTrekker next and the larger Trekker bags used for storage primarily. |

I have Tamerac velocity 7 and a lowe pro 200. I thought the lowe pro would be the most excellent bag for everything. Then I bought the tamrac bag, guess where the lowepro is, in the closet collecting dust. The Tamrac 7 carries everything I need for a shot around town or anywhere else I love it. Probably going to ebay the lowe pro and its brand new!! lol

I don't own the Tamarac but I do own the Lowepro Slingshot 200 and I am amazed by it everyday. At first it did bother my shoulder but after using it on a very regular basis I barely notice it. What I am amazed by is hoew much it holds.
I fit aall nikon glass, 70-200 2.8G, 85 1.4D, 50 1.8D and a 17-55 2.8G in the bag along with my Nikon D200 and 2 SB-800's. When I am doing photojournalism I can quickly get to anything I need. I also use it as a small writing table when I am writing down information. Since it is very sleek it rarely gets in my way while running around. Just my 2 cents. I can probably fit another smallish lens in there, like a 105 prime or a couple of small primes like a 35mm and a TC-1.4. David Myles |

I have this bag and recently took a trip to our local zoo. In the amount of time we were there, my old shoulder bag would have had me begging to leave. The Lowepro made the trip much more enjoyable and I had about 2x the equipment with me that I used to take. Great bag.

I really like the 200AW for its simplicity in practically handling all my gear. I can choose to either access just my camera, or (if I undo the two clips) all of my equipment. It does tire my shoulder out a bit, but if I don't load it to the brim I'm fine. After all, if you want to carry all your equipment at all times, you should get yourself a sherpa...

The review fails to mention that this is a bag solely for right-handed, left shoudered people. I'm left-handed and right-shouldered and returned this bag as soon as I opened it and realized what I had gotten myself into. It did look like a nice bag for the 'majority'.

Tried the 200W and got the Rock Olympic instead; it appears better built and padded; time will tell.
