Custom Sliding L Bracket...Possible?

I'm sure there is some head out there that would be like what I'm talking about but is there such a thing where the L bracket would be like the rails on a roller coaster attached to a quick release that could articulate like the different cars on a roller coaster?

That would be great! I'm considering getting an L Bracket and it would be more of a convenience factor than anything else so you wouldn't have to release the camera before changing orientations?

If you understand what I"m talking about and know of something like this, let me know!

Really Right Stuff has this contraption of horrors: Really Right Stuff ... Our CRD-87 Package

Allows free rotation of your camera for a low starting price of about $800. I'm sure it works just fine, but I'm not about to find out.

Stroboframe makes this vertaflip thing that is sort of like what you're describing but it looks absolutely awful.

Holy crap that insane. I couldn't afford that and I'm really just seeing if there is such a thing.

I'm more looking for specifically an L Bracket that would be really rounded at the corner and have "rails" for the release to rotate around it.
