I have a Canon 50D and the Canon 580EXII flash. I bought the Canon OC-E3 off shoe camera cord. The second time I used it, it came apart. I was talking to a friend of mine who had the same cord and the same thing happened to them. I am wanting to purchase another brand of camera shoe cord for my camera and flash. What other brand beside Canon would you recommend?
Thanks, Kaye __________________

FlashZebra.com: Off Camera ETTL Cord for Canon — 3 Foot Coiled Cord (Item #0122)
You could try here. I've ordered from them before (not this part) and received good service. I have this one and it works well. I also have the original Canon cord (before the OC-E3) and haven't had problems, but I know others have. |

Thank you OHenry. I will try boh of those links. I had a Promaster Off camera cord for my Canon Rebel XTI before and had no problem. But when I got my Canon 50D, it wouldn't work with it...sometimes it would fire the flash and sometimes it wouldn't. That is why I bought the Canon off camera cord but it doesn't seem to be a very good product.

I have the Yongnuo off camera flash cord.
It's pretty much an exact duplicate of the Canon cord. Apparently, even how it fell apart! ![]() ![]() |

Killjoy,
Boy yours did come apart! Mine came apart at the seam. I tried gluing it back together but didn't trust it. So, I did purchase the flash cord from FlashZebra suggested by Ohenry. I haven't used it yet. At least it is half the price the Canon cord is. Kaye |

At the very least, I gotta hand it to Yongnuo. They stand behind their product. I couldn't find the retailer I bought it from (an eBay seller who was no longer listed). So I did a little digging, and found the manufacturer. I sent it to China, and got a new replacement in return. ![]() __________________
