Default D1X build date

I have found a D1X I am considering buying.

I wonder if there is a way to closely estimate the number of shutter actuations and the build date (serial number?) since it looks like Nikon built them for 3 1/2 years?

Not sure but it is possible that the camera stores Shutter clicks in the EXIF data
check using a program called PhotoME. search for Shutter

Try out ExifTool, the D1x came out the same year as my 1D and it works great. Click count and serial number both show with it.

Thanks, I'll give that a whirl. Doesn't sound like it will help with the build date though. I can read the serial number off the bottom of the camera just fine.
