Default help with nikon d 60

i hope this does not sound stupid , i am wondering if any one out there has a nikon d 60. if so does this camera have an internal guide that shows if your exposure i correct before you shoot the pic. I know there is a green round circle the shows up when you are in foucus... but not sure about the exposure.
any help would be great.

You're the first person ever to buy a D60.

Yes there is and its right in your manual. You can get indications of Hi and Lo plus an over/under indicater. One thing to start with is to use the PSAM exposure modes. I suggest you go through your manual with camera in hand and try using all settings available to learn options and to know your camera.
