Where is a good place to buy online?

I haven't looked for a photography store in my town (Bloomington IL), but I was wondering if I could get suggestions for where people buy from online? Right now, I'm mostly looking for camera accessories (lenses, tripods, etc.). Right now, I look on ebay, but would like a more reliable source.

Both my cameras and a couple of the lenses came from this company. I've been very satisfied with them.

B&H has it all. If they don't have you don't need it. They are not the cheapest but they are the most reliable. You cannot order there 24/7. The take their religion seriously, so you have to plan ahead somewhat. It's never been an issue for me because I never need stuff right away.

I have purchased from B&H multiple times and they are excellent. Had two recent dealings with Adorama, also excellent.

One thing with Amazon is it's not always obvious whether you are buying from a 3rd party or Amazon directly. They do an okay job screening scammers out, but the quality of service and speed of shipping can vary greatly between companys. So always make sure you know who you are buying from through Amazon.

Other than Amazon BH and Adorama are the top places. If you see a good deal somewhere else but aren't sure about the store, always, always look them up on Store Ratings and Reviews by Real People - Trusted Online Shopping

B&H for overall "you want, we got"... Plus they're nice people to deal with. Not the cheapest, but I'd rank them a strong 96 points on the CamelNast Whine and Widget Conesuers Guide.

Ranking immediately below them (only because their inventory isn't *quite* as extensive, but great nonetheless) for Nikon goodies is Abes of Maine. Found them quite by accident via Amazon... I've had nothing but excellent luck with them. The upside is their prices. They *do* try to promo packages, if you don't want them say so but occasionally the *do* have some good "combo" deals...

I will throw in Canoga Camera in California They are not nearly as big as B&H but usually a bit cheaper, good to deal with and fast shipping.

Camera Corner in Bloomington, IL deals in Canon and Nikon, I believe, and you can access them on the net at thecameracorner.com. They havbe 3 store locations, one in Bloomington. All of these online suggestions also look good.

Yeah B&H is closed for the holidays. If you are on a budget and, dont mind used glass try www.keh.com for good prices and, they garuantee their stuff. Because glass aquisition is like a drug.

I agree with everyone who said B&H Photo in NY. Never had a problem with them. Just last week, I ordered a new flash and a flash bracket. The flash bracket had just gone out of stock, so they had their supplier drop ship me the bracket (since B&H's holiday was coming up), and it arrived the day before the B&H package arrived. I didn't have to pay a penny in extra shipping costs.

I make most of my purchases in person, probably because of the availability of various sources like B&H, Adorama, Calumet Photo, and so forth, as well as my ease of getting to their locations. (My gear acquisitions have been generally through eBay.)

I've bought chiefly from B&H and one or two items from Adorama, with positive results with both.

buydig and beachcamera are excellent also. I use them, B&H, and Adorama mostly. Oh, and my current camera and lights came from Calumet. They are good too.

I've never bought any camera stuff from Amazon, though I'm sure they are fine too (I get other stuff from them).
