I use Adorama pretty much exclusivly. Not because B&H or any of the other establishments have done anything to drive me away, but simply because they were the first place I used and I have never had a problem with them. Doesnt mean I wouldnt use someone like Amazon or B&H if they had the same item, only cheaper though. Im more loyal to my wallet then to a store =)

I'm not a fan of Amazon account a negative experience my first time ordering a couple of compact discs several years ago. Once I got through that - and I did get the CDs I ordered - I decided, given the grief I endured, "never again." My first time ordering from Amazon was also my last.
Of course, this is one man's opinion. YMMV. Dieter Zakas Burned Once, NJ |

Once again, if you order Amazon, you are probably not ordering through amazon. Make sure you know who you are buying from. Some amazon marketplace vendors are better than others.

Amazon is good to tell you if it is through them or another vendor...you just have to pay attention to what you're doing.

Not mentioned, but certainly one to consider is MidWest Photo Exchange. They sometimes have stuff that B&H and Adorama don't, or they're out of stock/backordered. Got my LP-E6 batteries there for the 5D2. No one else had them! Not cheap, but when you need, you need! Also, MPX is the "official" vendor for the Strobist website. They have "specials" alot, re: Strobist-type gear.

They don't hide anything, but it's easy to miss that you are buying from a 3rd party too if you aren't careful. The nice thing if you can see who else is selling the product and choose them instead. Often Amazon will sell the same item for only a few dollars more, but with free or faster shipping.

I went to a local Calumet store today to look at a Canon lens and was pleasantly surprised that their price was rather competitive in comparison to some of the highly rated online places. They did not have it in stock though, and that was the bummer.

I like Wolf Camera because they never charge tax or shipping fees. I have also used Amazon, Adorama, and B&H and a few others I trust.

I'll jump on the bandwagon here and ask "Does anyone know if these places ship to Australia?".
A couple that I have tried let me get to the checkout before advising me that my order can't be shipped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. |

Amaz0n is usually your best bet! One thing with Amazon is it's not always obvious whether you are buying from a 3rd party or Amazon directly.
