Hello Everyone,
I'm going to be traveling overseas soon and am deciding between two bags. Size and room in the bag is not a problem. I understand there is a price difference between the Pelican 1510 case and the Think Tank Airport International, however I would like to hear feedback on each. I'm wondering if the Think Tank is really worth the extra dough, because the Pelican is built extremely tough. How does the Think Tank compare? Does the Think Tank handle abuse and/or dusty, wet and physically stressful environments well? Thanks! __________________

I have the 1510, and my dad has the Airport International.
The Think Tank will hold a bit more gear, but it's really designed to be a carry-on, and you mentioned that room in the bag is not a problem. I wouldn't check it in unless I had to, and even Think Tank advises check-in as a last resort. It will, however, provide convenient places to put your laptop, batteries, etc, while the 1510 does not- though the padded divider set helps some. The Think Tank will probably handle dusty and wet environments just fine (use the weather cover if it's really bad). I'm not sure about physical stress but if your case is going to get battered I'd use the Pelican. The Pelican will survive pretty much anything you can throw at it, but you'll probably have to check it in overseas as I have enough trouble getting it into the overheads of smaller planes in the US. It's a little longer and narrower than ideal, and it adds a ton of weight just by itself. |

Stick it in a cheap duffle bag or something if you're going to check it. __________________
