Smile Soligor Spot Sensor II: any information?

Hi all,

Yesterday I went to our annual swap meet/market for photography geeks and came home with a "Soligor Spot Sensor II", which included a current "certificate" of accuracy from a reputable serviceman.

The item appars to be working OK.

It is analogue, and the readout is in EV, (along with the corresponding shutter/aperture settings) which suits me better than the Konica-Minolta digital readout which only displays one shutter/aperture setting at a time. I also like the accessibility of a direct EV reading in the viewfinder (easy tonality comparisons).

Although I tried to Google up references to this piece of photography equipment, I didn't come across anything of much use.

Does anyone out there have one of these, and could you share some of your insights regarding it, please?

In particular, does anyone hgave a link to the original user's guide (online)?

Thanks

I know that posts of the 'can't-help-but-yada-yada' are irritating but I can't resist. My first SLR was a Miranda Sensorex which was probably the first slr with built in spot metering and a host of cool features like interchangeable viewfinder. I had a pop up TLR type that was used a lot and a bellows that I used for extreme macros. One of the like it or hate it features was the external aperture coupling. I loved the way it fell conveniently under the fingers. The shutter on the front was another feature. As to how this relates.... Soligor/Miranda were partners who later merged. The spotmetering in the camera and in the soligor meters were related.

I have and use that exact meter. Mine was modified by the Zone VI Studio (Fred Picker). I have found it to be very accurate and easy to use. ( Are the Zone VI meter modifications worth it? ).
