I need a cord for my Canon 30D. The Canon brand runs in the fifty dollar range. Has anyone used any third party cords with good results? If so please furnish brand names and where you purchased them. I am trying to save my money foe some new glass.
Thanks __________________

I have the Promaster cord which was sold at a local shop for very little less than the Canon. It works.

I managed to get the Canon one cheap secondhand and had no problems. I know someone who bought a cheap 'knock-off' one and it seemed to work ok, but was not of the same quality as the genuine one - depends how often you intend using it really

I looked at the Promaster cords from the local camera shop. I didn't like the build quality. I also looked at the Canon OC-E2, but liked the better build quality and the weather sealing of the Canon OC-E3. It was designed for use w/ the 1DMkIII and the 580EX II and has the same rubber boot as the 580EX II. I would strongly advise you to save up and buy the OEM cord. I've made my decision based on poor reviews of aftermarket cords. Just my $0.01 (my opinion isn't worth $0.02 yet).
