I use a shooting table for shooting products and stuff and the table top is a big piece of opaque white acrylic plexi-glass that has a nice s-curve when attached to the frame. The plexi just clips to the frame but it is very large and cumbersome and not easy for one or even two people to flex it and clip it to the frame. So i'm wondering if another material exists that I can lay on top of the plexi that is black, shiny, and thinner/more flexible. I want reflections like I get with the plexi. My other thought is to look for black plexi cut into several strips that I can just lay on top of the white plexi and photoshop out the seams but then I won't have a nice smooth gradation.

there is this stuff called cinefoil, its kind of like heavy duty aluminum foil that may work. not too sure about shiny, the stuff i saw wasa matte, but its very flexable and easy to contour to any shape. check it out, if you need shiny, maybe spay on a coat of laquer or something.

There are many plastic laminates, glossy, matte or terxtured, available in hundreds of colors. Look for a plastic laminate, formica, etc. distributor in your area.

My suggestion would be to call up a TX based plastics supplier. You would be simply amazed at the cool stuff they can get their hands on.
I use Regal Plastics in PHX, and really like working with them. They have a Houston store... Regal Plastics Supply Company 1700 Wirt Road Houston, TX 77055 USA (713) 957-8541 (800) 549-0516 They can also deal in laminates. Seriously, call them up. |

That's funny because I have Regals phone number sitting right here.
Ends up my office has an account with them. I just haven't gotten around to calling but definitely will. Oh, and I go past their place in the mornings on my morning run! ![]() Thanks! |
