Default New Product Eye-Fi

Wireless 2 gig memory card. SD only at the moment.
No wireless control but at least download 802.11 compatible.

They've made it to ebay already.

I got one this week and it works as advertised. I use it in a Nikon D50. My main reason for getting it was to set up a "Wireless tether", so that my portrait customers could see the pics as I take them. The card transfers while the camera is idle, but the transfer is pretty quick (~10 sec per 3MB file). It only works with .jpgs at the moment, but I rarely use RAW files myself. The guys over at Smugmug have been using them with a CFcard adaptor in their Canon 1ds MarkIII's quite reliably.

The pics do travel through a router to get to your PC, so you have to be in range of a Wifi network that you have set your card up to work with. But the whole experience is actually pretty cool.

Keep in mind that they do not automatically send the image to your laptop/storage device. It is merely a wireless download tool. Give them a few years and they'll have a wireless card that transmits images directly to laptop immediately after being taken.

Actually it does go straight to your computer. A router has to be within range, and the image actually passes from the card through the router, then to your PC.

I think he meant that it isn't passive, in that you have to do something to initiate the transfer, i.e. start the program on the laptop.

Well the computer must be on, and the Eye-Fi manager software must be running. But it is setup to run at startup, so its always on and ready to recieve. Other than that, there is nothing needed to initiate the transfer, other than to take a pic.
