Just got mine in the mail.
I figured since I'm not into making a better bounce card and having a bride, groom, or others question why I have a piece of paper or foam on the top of my flash (appearance is important to those that have no clue... probably why some people think firearms painted black are more dangerous than shiny ones...but I digress...) the Demb Diffuser is pretty nice actually. I'm still tossed up as to whether or not I like it with or without the double diffuser on the front of it. Since I use it on a flash bracket, I am robbed of about a full stop depending on how much tilt I have on it. One thing I wish Demb had done was to place white, evenly spaced lines on the back of the diffuser so as to allow the photographer to remember where the diffuser was positioned based on the lighting effects obtained at different positions. This way, if I know that my flash is spot on at such a setting at 8 ft from the subject then I know where to line up the bounce card's tilt factor. If I know at 9 or 10 ft, I've lost a 1/2 stop from perfect exposure then I know I can tilt the bounce card one notch forward and I have my extra 1/2 stop or if I move within the 8ft, I can tilt the bounce card to a more perpendicular angle (straigher up) so as to not bounce as much light forward and avoid overexposure within my perfect exposure range. The really nice thing is that the diffuser lays flat when you take it off. You also can remove the double diffuser front panel and just use the bounce card. It's a nice little device. People on various forums often remark how obtrusive the "white" Canon "L" lenses are. I have found that when I am using virtually any lens with the Demb diffuser, it attracts much more attention than using my 70-200mm f/4L. People remark when I use the Demb... "Wow, look at that camera, you must be a professional!
This can be good or it can be not so good, depending on how you shoot and your own reaction to that attention. |

It works well enough and is fast and easy to put on a flash.
