Default SD Card.

Does the Canon IXUS 850IS take a 4gb card?
For example this e-bay item:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/170X-4GB-Ultr...QQcmdZViewItem

The specifications say the camera takes a SD/MMC card.
This card on e-bay is a "SDMI" & I don't know what the "MI" means!
I know the "SD" means secure digital but I don't know what the "MMC" means either!
I have just purchased a camera and think this type of card may be good value.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards,
Neville.

Default Re: SD Card.

Hi Hot Opal,

according to DPReview the 850IS is

Storage • SD / SDHC / MMC card compatible

SDHC is for SD HighCapacity, cards that 'go beyond 2Gb', so a 4Gb card should not be a problem.

SDMI = ??

...and it is not an SDMI card, it *supports* SDMI

...I have no info on the card-quality, but with cards being really affordable now (I once paid €/$200 for a 1Gb IBM MicroDrive...), why risk it?

...get a 'speedy' SANdisk or a Kingston, and you have 'lifetime guarantee'

...*my* €0.02 worth...

Kindest regards!
