Default Quick release recommendations?

* I am looking to purchase a quick release for my monopod ,for use with my lens with tripod mount.* I have looked at the Kirk website but those things are expensive. Any alternatives?* Are there any dealers that discount Kirk products, or is it a factory direct only thing?* Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.* *Bob

Or you can try this ..... http://roxiss.com/index_files/Page870.html

I'm using their L-40 plate for my Markin M10, fit very nicely.

I am very happy with this monopod head. Very useful, quick release and it is an RC2 plate that also fits the head on my tripod.

Much maligned, but I really prefer the Bogen/Manfrotto quick release system. The plates are inexpensive, so I can have a dozen or so around, and they've held everything from small cameras to large ones.

Michael,

If you really want a quick release, use one of RRS' lever releases. I wouldn't recommend it if you are carrying your camera on the pod, "slung " over your shoulder, but other than that.

Thanks for the recommendation, thorin. However, as you said...

I tend to sling the lens (no camera) over my shoulder on a pod when moving around, so that'd be a bit of an issue.
