sony a550 & the "beercan"
I'm a newbie. Maybe this is a stupid question but, My a550 has 8 contacts for the lense. Most of the beercan lenses that are said to work with the a550 only have 5. Does this make a difference?

A better question for the Sony forum, but yes it will work the 5 contact AF Minolta glass works on the Alpha line up. To the best of my knowledge the other 3 contacts have to do with intergrating distance measurements for flash, I am not sure if that is all or not. Any way I have several 5 contact Minolta lenses and work fine on the a700.

I do not have a 550 (yet!) but my beercan works great on my a700. Go ahead and shoot away. You will like the results.
